International College

Adjusting to a new culture takes time. At the University of Auckland International College, we do everything we can to support and care for you.

Personal wellbeing is essential for academic and personal achievement, especially when studying in a new country or studying online at home in a different language and new learning environment. Our tutors, homestay families, welfare and pastoral care staff are here to offer you guidance and support.

Student support team

You can visit our friendly Student Support Team in person or email them for assistance with practical and personal challenges. This includes immigration matters, insurance, accommodation and other enquiries. It is a great place for you to seek information about living and studying in New Zealand. There is also a 24/7 emergency number available if you require urgent assistance.

Sonder Student Safety app

We work with Sonder, a 24/7 personal safety and wellbeing service, to support all our onshore students. The app is for personal devices and has features like “Track My Journey” and “Check on Me”.

Whether you are walking alone at night or meeting someone for the first time, Sonder will help you live and study in New Zealand with confidence. If you are feeling stressed or anxious, you can speak to Sonder’s multilingual support team anytime via live chat or phone. They can even send in-person assistance if you need it.

Sonder is currently only available to students in New Zealand. For students outside of New Zealand, our Student Support Team is your first point of contact.

Parent portal

Our web-based parent portal helps to bridge the communication gap between your home and the College. It provides your parents and caregivers with a single point of reference to all your school related activities, so they are kept up to date with your progress. They will get access to your personal information, school announcements, daily timetable, attendance records and academic reports. An email with a link to the portal, as well as a unique login and password, will be sent to them once you have started your programme with us.
